New Year!

I can't believe that it is already 2013! That is insane! I feel like 2012 just flew by so fast.

Well we had a wonderful Christmas with both sides of our families and then got to run off to Hawaii for 7 days. It was unbelievable!!

We got to spend a few days on Kaui....where we went on our honeymoon, and then jump over to Oahu for a few days to see my best friend Taylor!

I'm just starting to look through and edit our photos, but here's a sneak peak!

Wishing you and yours a very happy new year!

Wow friends....

OK so the title...I know...It's been awhile.

I can now officially say that I FAIL at blogging. Like I get a big fat "F" on that test.

Things around these parts in the Clark house have just been a little shall we say....insane. Ok well that's a lie, my life has been insane. There really is no excuse for me not to be blogging, I've just not had the time or energy. Once I come home from work...being on the computer all day, jumping on and writing some more has not sounded so fun to me.

However, I'm trying to turn a leaf here and start again. No excuses

So here we go.

The last few months in a nut shell.

In October we both have been working quite a bit, and more on the weekends too. On the 13th,  I helped put on a Juvenile Diabetes Walk in Santa Barbara for work. A lot of work, but the pay off was worth it. So many families there and over $100,000 raised for type 1 diabetes.

Then my good friend Ashley and I put on a baby shower for my good friend Megan. Her husband works at a golf corse and the house we had the shower at had a mini putting green, it was destiny that we had a little girls golf themed shower. Oh ya, she was preg with a girl.

I think this was the most fun I've ever had putting on a party.

sorry for odd color in photos, I havn't mastered the "taking nice photos at night setting on my camera"

And now she has a very adorable little one named Maya. Gahhhh all these cute little babies being born!!

For Halloween, Con and I were home this year to pass out candy to our trick or treaters. Great night to find out your doorbell doesn't work eh?!

And then finally last weekend my same friend Ashley and I did a 5k Dirty Girl mud run. It was an awesome experience, very dirty, but very fun too. Next year we will be doing it again for sure! And I think all the proceeds went to breast cancer research. So really it's a win win. Me getting off the couch and working out, and the money going to a wonderful cause.

Before-our team Annie's Army.
A friend put the team together. Her Aunt just passed away from breast cancer a few months ago.

After- you cant really tell but I'm covered in mud.

And in "training" for this little run, I hit my goal weight. Finally. Now back to that halloween candy....haha but no, really.

Now that you are up to speed on my life, tell me about yours. I'm sick of talking about myself.

Just Me....Twitterpated

Ok this is me twitterpated.
(look he's TOUCHING ME!)

We had a TV commercial shoot last Friday for work. I found out about it two days in advance and ran around like a mad woman trying to coordinate locations and scripts with him and the director.

If you didn't know already, this is Aaron Eckhart...friends with Jennifer Aniston...was Harvy Dent in THE batman. Sometimes I'd like to think we could all be friends. But then again, I like to think things that are a little far fetched.

Well anyways...

We shot a commercial on Friday in Santa Barbara for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for work and Aaron wanted to help out. What a sweetheart he was. But no, I'm not sure saying that, he really was a super nice, down to earth guy. Pretty funny and pretty to look at too! I got to help him with his lines and be in charge of the cue cards....so aka I got to spend some quality time with him. :)

The day went by fast and then he was off back to LA. But I just wanted to share my little celeb 15 minutes with you all. Not like you would care, but Morgan said I kept starting at this photo for hours after I met him. (I think there was a bit of jealousy going on)
New celeb crush....you be cha!

Our happenings...this WHOLE summer.

Geeze. I know I'm sorry. I seemed to have jumped off the blogging train the last few weeks. Like fallen is probably more like it.

I promise, I'm back now.

So our summer has been filled with weddings (Morgan's so over them). But for his sake, we are done with those...for now.

We went on a great vacation to the cabin last weekend in Bishop with Morgan's cousin. Met some new friends up there and had a blast just relaxing. I feel like this summer has been so busy, but with mostly work. Blah.

Last week I had our free kids dental day/Grand Opening in Santa Barbara. Of course the 10 minutes before we go to cut the ribbon, rain drops started to fall. It was just my luck. But it turned out to be a successful event.

Morgan has new news. He was recently called to be the Sophomore teacher for early morning seminary. He's been teaching for about 2 weeks now. I secretly think he loves it. But still says, "ehh ya I guess I do alright with the kids." But truly, he's a great teacher.
He has also lost about 25 pounds this summer. He's been working out at 4:30 every morning. Him and his friends are doing the tough mudder in Vegas in a couple months.
I think they are going to slaughter everyone. They are getting into great shape! He likes to show off his muscles now every chance he gets. But hey, I would too if I was getting up at 4:30. NO THANK YOU!

I also signed up for a little run myself. My friend Ashley and I are running a 5k in November. It's called the Dirty Girl Mud Run. You should look it up. It looks so much fun.
But if you don't want to, I'll indulge you.
So basically you run 3 miles through obstacles like tires, over fences, under wires through mud, climbing rope ladders...you get the point. But the best part is that it's for cancer. I'm pretty excited for it. And it's something to look forward too! Plus it makes you work out... and when I say "You" I mean me.

What's next for the next few months you ask?
Well we have some house projects we are going to start on including a new fireplace, ok just making the one we have look better, and making our driveway wider, and maybe a new pergola off the front of the house. He the list just keeps growing!

But enjoy some of the pics from this summer to fill you in on some other happenings.
Hearst Castle in July with Rach and Tim! They moved up closer to us now!

We threw a 4th of July party...and it was the one day it turned out foggy.

We took a road trip to the Monterey aquarium! Highly recommended!

I got to hang out with my good friends from school-Nikki (who is preggers!!), Chels and Angela.
How I love these ladies.

My boys at the cabin last weekend.

And a mushy one to end them.

Onward ho to this fall!

BABY KATE

Soooo we have a new member of our family! She is absolutely adorable. Take a look for yourself!! I can't get over her.
Her name is KATE!

The day before was Father's Day so we all met up at my sister's in-laws house and took some pictures, had some awesome Mexican food and talked about the baby making its arrival.

Monday morning my sister went into labor, and by 2:04 pm she was born. She was ready to make her appearance. I was able to be there for this one. (with Carter, she delivered a day early so I missed it by a few hours) I didn't go into work because I had a feeling it was going to be very soon. And I was right. That baby was out so fast! It was so awesome. My sister did an amazing job, she only had to push twice. I mean, WHO DOES THAT!? and with no drugs! Crazy lady!

Look how small she is compared to that penny!
(this is her "blue steele" face)

They named her Kate Nicole Mathews-I was completely SHOCKED! I had no idea that her middle name was going to be after me. I kinda started bawling.

Carter was so happy to start naming her eyes, and her ears and her cheeks...it was so cute!
And she loves to kick her tiny little legs.

I'm so happy for them. YEAAA for more girls!

Feeling lighter

Hi All,

Well I'm updating my weight loss adventure.
I'm holding strong at 7 pounds. My body is having a hard time loosing more than that.
I've hit a wall.

This past weekend we went to the lake with some friends. I was good all the way up until Saturday morning. We stayed until Monday morning. I gained a pound. Dang. Now it's taken all week to loose it.

I think it's because I've stopped drinking water...

All in all it's been a fun thing for me actually. I'm pretty proud of myself for the 7 that I have lost. I just have 8 more to loose. Morgan has been a big support. Helping with healthy dinners and checking in with me for what I had for lunch every day. Accountability is a big thing for me. If I'm held accountable for something, I'm more likely to follow through.

I hope to have another positive post soon. Hopefully with better results next time.

Here are some photos of my sister's baby shower last night. Did I mention how SIKED I AM!! ITS GIRL TIME!

Marriage: 2 years and counting!

So I was thinking today about being married. All the statistics out there telling us that the percentage of divorce is about 50% these days. That is astounding to me!

I went to a bridal shower last weekend and I sat next to a girl that was engaged. She was saying that she had a customer come in and ask if she was married. She said she was engaged and was getting married later this year. The customer then proceeded to say things that were degrading to marriage like how half of marriages fail these day. And how did she know that hers was going to be in the half that was going to prevail to the end.

This makes me so sad!

What kind of world do we live in now that the marriage rate is at 50%!!! And I'm not saying by any means that we have the all time perfect marriage. We don't. But it is something we all should be constantly working on to improve. Myself included.

To me there is nothing better then coming home at the end of a long day at work to a husband who wants to know about my day. Listens to me vent or talk about how tired I am. Loves to do things that make me happy, and me for him. This kind of partnership I think gets lost these days by the media portraying marriage as a bad thing. "So and so celebrity couple ends 2 year marriage. No surprise." It is everywhere these days. Websites for a 3 step divorce process in Utah. Come on!

I read this article and I think you should too. Married or not yet. The author, Lydia Netzer sums up perfectly would I would have said. And I especially likes how she tells it how it is!

No marriage is perfect. There are always ups and downs. But you are in it together and that is the best kind of partnership you can ever have.
