2011 in Review...Wheeeewwww!

I know that this a little late because we are already in the swing of January, but I wanted to take some time and look back on the past year. I feel like we did quite a bit last year, and I just hope that we can get close to what we accomplished this year. I think 2012 is going to be MY year! Well and that it has my favorite number in it, so IT MUST BE!

Well to start out, last year we celebrated Valentines Day/My Birthday with a surprise trip to Disneyland. JUST what I needed!
Right after that, we got approved to start looking for houses to buy. We quickly found a house and went into escrow. It was supposed to be a quick 40 day escrow. Well for those that have bought houses know, that usually these things don't always go as planned.

On our 1 year anniversary our agent let us borrow the keys so we could have a picnic in what would have been our first house. It was romantic and all....the power was turned off, until we walked through the house to find that the addition off the back had flooded in the recent rains. After 4 emotional months after that, we decided to drop that house and find a new realtor.

We then ran a half marathon in May with my brother-in-law James. Lets just say the next time I do one of these, I WILL be training a WHole lot more!
In May we went on a week long trip to Costa Rica with our good friends The Cooks and The Andreasons. AMAZING PLACE!! We are so going back again soon.

All I have to say is that God really answers our prayers. Within 1 day of dropping the first house in June, we found what is now our home. And 30 days later it was ours.

We spent one night alone until we got this little guy. We named him 'Con (Rincon) and he has been such a great dog and companion. He is our little kid and we take him almost everywhere with us. Morgan does most of the training with him, I'm just a sucker and like to spoil him.
We have been working on updating and doing many projects around the house. Very HGTV style.

Two of my best friends got married this summer.
Chelsea Nash (George)

Taylor Voorhis (Henderson)

We had our first Thanksgiving at our house. Made the big 22 pound turkey and had 13 for dinner.

And we had our first Christmas here in our first house. I could not have asked for a better ending to our year. Sitting by our Christmas tree, with our pup, opening our Christmas presents together.

And to end the year in relaxing manner, we took a good long trip to the cabin in Mammoth, not a lot of snow :(.

Some exciting news for 2012 came to us in October, I'm going to be an Aunt again in June!
2012 bring it on!

  2. OMG Kate I miss you too! Some was talking about watermelon last night and it totally reminded me of when you used to cut one in half and eat a whole half on the couch. Miss you. We need to plan a trip soon to see each other.
